ZWSOFT, a trusted all-in-one CAx solutions provider, today announced the release of ZWCAD MFG 2025, the latest version of its advanced 2D CAD solution for the manufacturing industry.
ZWCAD MFG is an advanced CAD solution for manufacturing professionals that improves design standardization and efficiency. Based on the powerful ZWCAD platform, it enables users to create high-quality, standardized designs more easily and quickly by offering a vast library of standard parts, intelligent drawing tools, and other productivity-enhancing features. In addition, it can be seamlessly integrated into PLM systems for efficient management throughout the product lifecycle.
Elaine Zhu, Go-to-market Manager of ZWCAD MFG, said, “In ZWCAD MFG 2025, we have implemented significant advancements in various aspects, including compatibility, accessibility, part libraries, drawing functionality, and specialized tools. We believe this release can help designers and engineers create standardized designs more efficiently.”
Let’s dive into the key new features and improvements of ZWCAD MFG 2025.
Support for AutoCAD ® Mechanical
Format compatibility is essential for seamless data exchange and collaboration. In ZWCAD MFG 2025, we have expanded its compatibility with AutoCAD ® Mechanical. It can now correctly read and freely edit entities such as frames, title blocks, balloons, part references, bills of materials (BOM), and mechanical symbols. With this improvement, users can easily use their old drawings when migrating to ZWCAD MFG, saving time and money.
ZWCAD MFG 2025 now supports importing AutoCAD ® Mechanical drawings from version 2012 to 2018.
Expanded Parts Library
A complete library of standard parts is indispensable for mechanical engineers to improve design efficiency. The latest built-in library not only extends existing standards such as ISO and DIN, but also adds 14 national standards including JIS, IS, PN, KS, AFNOR, ANSI, BSI, EN, TCVN and more. This update allows engineers around the world to benefit from a wide range of standard parts libraries.

2D Hide
To address graphical occlusions, we have introduced the 2D Hide feature that allows users to quickly hide background graphics behind the outer contours of parts, thereby improving clarity and saving time on manual clipping. To meet the diverse needs of users, we also offer various options for 2D Hide, including Hide by Clipping, Hide by Covering, Reference Clipping, and Hide on Outside.
Parts Reference
The new Part Reference feature supports data association by tagging parts as references. This automatically generates bills of materials (BOMs) and keeps data synchronized between BOMs, balloons, and part references, streamlining workflows and minimizing errors.

Area Scale
The Area Scale feature divides the model space into regions with different scales, allowing you to conveniently plot engineering drawings at the appropriate scale. Two scaling options are provided:
Length Scaling: Enlarge or reduce geometry without affecting the size of annotations.
Text Scaling: Enlarge or reduce annotations without affecting the size of the geometry.
Improved Calculation of Moment of Inertia
Moment of Inertia calculation is commonly used for reliability assessment of structures in industries such as bridge construction and steel section manufacturing. In ZWCAD MFG 2025, we not only optimize its efficiency and accuracy, but also support the calculation of complex shapes, including closed shapes with holes, closed shapes with spline contours, discrete shapes, and shapes with centerlines. These improvements enable users to handle intricate scenarios with greater ease and confidence.

Deflection Calculation
Deflection Calculation is another common function for structural reliability assessment. In this release, we have added this function to improve design efficiency. It can quickly generate deflection lines and calculation result tables, helping engineers predict beam deformation under loads and optimize structures.

Sprocket/Pulley Design Tool
ZWCAD MFG 2025 now includes the Sprocket/Pulley Design Tool to help users quickly draw sprockets and pulleys. This specialized tool can draw sprockets and pulleys, calculate the length of chains and belts, and draw the links of chains and belts. In addition, when the position of sprockets and pulleys is changed, the position of chains and belts will be updated accordingly, facilitating the design modification process. This tool also supports the selection of national standards, ensuring that your drawing meets the required standards.

Support for More Languages
Multilingual support is crucial to facilitate global collaboration and ensure ease of use for users around the world. In addition to Chinese, English, German, Japanese, and Korean, ZWCAD MFG 2025 now supports Polish and Turkish. Users in these countries can use the application in their native language and get their work done more easily.
